MARSSIM-Based Final Status Survey of a University’s Research Reactor Facility – Ann Arbor, MI

The reactor was licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate at a power level of 2 Megawatt (MW) thermal. The surveys performed by Ameriphysics were conducted to demonstrate that remedial actions had been effective in reducing residual radioactivity and that as-left radiological conditions satisfied criteria for termination of the facility’s radioactive materials license and for future use of the facility without radiological restrictions. The survey was performed in accordance with guidelines and recommendations presented in NUREG-1757 and MARSSIM.
